The Kaitangata leaves Port Chalmers about Monday for Greymouth. The Whangape leaves •• about Tuesday for Oamaru. The Tarawera is due here to-morrow from Auckland via ports. She leaves again on Tuesday on the return trip. The Rakanoa was expected to leave Westport to-day for Port Chalmers. According to the approximate traffic return of 'the Manchester Ship Canal, the receipts for June totalled £77,477, as compared with £69,698 in June last year. For the six months the receipts amounted to £360,292, or £33,007 niore than in the corresponding period of last year. The steamer mtsford left Wellington at 5 p.m. on Thursday for Lyttelton and Dunedin with remainder of cargo from New York. The Huddart-Parker Company's Victoria was due to leave Sydney to-day for Auckland direct, from which port she will proceed to Dunedin. The vessel is due hero towards the end of next week, and departure for Lyttelton and other ports will be taken on Tuesday, September 21. In the House of Commons a short time asro Lord R. Cecil stated that with a view to co-operating'with the British Government the Japanese Government had issued orders to their shipping lines prohibiting the carriage of merchandise handkd by or destined for enemy subjects in China as from July 26, the date on which the British proclamation of Juno 25 came into force. He ladded that France and Russia some time ago adopted measures wh'ch have the effect of prohibiting trading with enemv subjects in China. " THE FERRY SERVICE. The Maori, from Wellington, arrived at Lyttelton at 7.20 a.m. to-day, and connected with the first express for the south. THE RIVERINA. A Christchurch telegram states that the rervr s to the Riverma were completed at 7 a.m. this morning, and the vessel sailed for Wellington. LUSITANIA PENSIONS. Sir Norman Hill stated that in connection with the sinking of the Lusitania pensions to widows and allowances to children totalling £6,600 a year had up to the present been made, and other cases are still to be dealt with. These grants arc over and above whatever may have been secured through the operation of the Workmen's Compensation Act.— ' Fairplay.' SHIPPING TELEGRAMS.
