OVERSEAS CLUB.
Tho workers of the ladies’ branch of the Overseas Club are deeply grateful for the response made last week to their appeal for material, used clothing, and comforts for the Belgians and for wounded soldiers. Whilst realising that in view of the many calls made on the public during the carnival they have been treated most liberally, and have for the present plenty of work to do, they are constrained to mention that they have still many cases to fill and to despatch before the European winter overtakes our boys and those who, though non-combatants, are suffering by the war. The committee feel certain that many people, realising this, will respond liberally to the appeal. .Donations during the week are gratefully acknowledged as follows:—Mrs M'Crorie, ss; Mrs Wilkinson, remnants, and cash 2s 6d; “ Anonyriious,” children’s clothim/; Mrs Robertson, children’s clothing; Mrs Coiquhnun, clothing; Miss Ivinnard, clothing; “ Four Friends ” (per Mrs King) a large parcel of remnants. Lady numbers of the chib who are not at 'present working are promised a hearty welcome and plenty of work to do at the club room every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
