The monthly meeting held to-dav was alti-Midrd by J. T. Gibson (chairman). Doull. filler. Thomson, and Camr.bell. r The Engineer reported as follows :—During the month maintenance repairs had been earned out to the Waipori River embankment below Berwick ; " B " drain from Centre road to the railway had been cleaned out and deepened, and the material from drain being umh] to raise adjoining roadway; a new concrete culvert had been put in aeros.-e " P, "' road from Poplar drain to replace the old timber culvert, which had broken down: several small drains at Henley had been cleaned out. The repairs to the old pump wheel were now in hand, also cleaning of "A"' drain from Poplar road to the" river. Wvlie's Creek had been cleaned out to about 50 chains above the Outram road, and the cleaning of Loch Katrine was in hand. The extension of concrete well and sluice gates at pumping station contract, let to Mr J. Slrachan. had been completed. The lower creeks had been turned into the contour channel, and (he upper works were now finished off. and should be readv to turn in Lee Creek during this month." \ start had been made on AVvlh'e's (•reekdiversion.—Report adopted. Elder advised having withdrawn their objections to the diversion of "Wylie's Creek through their properties.—Received. —General.— The following special rates were levied for paying interest. • on loans:—Taieri drainage (western) district. 15d. 12d. and 7£d on •' A." " B." and " C " class lands : West Taieri drainage- district, l-15d in £; Otokia, drainage district, £d in £ : J3,-.,-'-wick drainage" district. 9-14 d in £ ; 'West Taieri river district. l-20d in £ : Maungatua drainage district, 5-9 in £; East, and 5-14 d in £, AY est subdivision : Henlev River district. 9-40 d in £; Govennen't loan, and 3-5 din £ private loan. The genera] rale was also levied for the WestTaieri Drainage Board. The Engineer read a statement, showing the various drains under the control ,7( the board at present, the drains he proposed should be controlled by the board in the future, and the drains'proposed to be cleaned out during the financial veinending March, 1916.
