MELBOURNE, September 17. (Received September 17, at 10.5 a.m.) Giving evidence before the Commodities Commission, prominent wheat buyers said the general opinion was that the price fixed in Sydney (4s 2d bushel) was absurd.
The local wheat market is paralyse!, sellers refusing 4s lOd. SYDNEY, September 17. A number of firms holding farmers' wheat have declined to fill orders, as the price fixed by the Commission is below their clients' demands.
Important Government action is anticipated to-day in connection with the large stocks of wheat held in Sydney.
