(Received September 17, at 10.5 a.m.) The ' Daily Mail' gays it is probable that smelting works will be opened in England shortly that are capable of producing 50,000 "tons of spelter annually. Experts are now investigating sites and studying the latest American methods. It is possible that tho Government will support the scheme, in view of the importance of spelter for war material,
