ALBANIA SWEPT BY PESTILENCE

ROME, September 16 (morning). Valona (Albania) telegrams state that famine, malaria, and smallpox are raging, particularly among refugees from the villages. The dead are transported on the backs of donkeys without covering and buried in shallow graves, thus increasing the danger of infection.
