DUNEDIN WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION.

To-day the- workers at tlie Early Settlers' Hall -were as busy as bees, fixing up arrangements for "Flower Day" and packing extra kits for men who have newly gone into camp. This kit-packing has been a. big job. Exact records of all the items are not kept —the ladies are not measuring out their energy—but the rough tally shows that aver '40,000 article* Have already gone through their hands, -whilst more tbam £7OO hae been spent in material. The girl who is making up her " glory box * is an idler and a dreamer by comparison frith the kit-packer in this campaign. A large number of soldiers attended the social last niaht. They had a jolly dance that lasted till 10 o'clock. Between'whiles music was provided by M.r Bannell and other friends. The Mayor and his councillors attended by invitation after the council meeting, and had a cup of tea, with the troopers. Fruit, etc.: Svndicate Stores. City Fruit Mart, Messrs Ruffells and Wills (North-east Valley), Burton, the Misses Edwards, Bull's; and' Mrs Holdsworth. Gifts of flowers are invited for "Flower Day" on Saturday, to be sent in to the Eai-lv Settlers' Hall on Friday afternoon or early on Saturday morning. TO-NIGHT'S PATRIOTIC CONCERT. At the Garrison Hall to-night the Dunedin Orchestral Society's patriotic concert in aid of the relief fund is to be hold. The whole of the proceeds are beiii" handed to the Otago Patriotic and General Welfare Association. The excellence of the programme submitted speaks for itself. The complete programme appeared in last night's issue, so that it is unnecessary to further outline the many patriotic _ items constituting same. The soloists include Mis* Brenda Stock, Messrs E. Drake, and G W. Johnstone, Mr Percy James m the now patriotic song ' Our Territorial* and 'The Absent-minded Beggar, faster diva Vivian, the Dunedin Harmonists, under the oonductorship of Mr VV. H. Bon, and orchestral selection. Doors will be opened at 6.45. Tickets (Is and 2s] are obtainable at the Dresden, Beggfi, and Jacobs's. _ MISCELLANEOUS. \ money order office, under the auspices of the New- Zealand Government, has been opened at Apia, Samoa. This will facilitate the exchange of money orders between troops and their friends in the Dominion. . The committee of the Otago Women s Club will be glad if any members willing •to help on Flower Day will communicate either with Mrs Lindo Ferguson, Mrs P. R. -Sargood, or Mrs T. C. Ross.
