EDUCATION BOARD
The monthly meeting of the Oiago Education Board was continued this morning, Mr G. 0. Israel (chairman) presiding over a full attendance of members. The Albany Street Committee asked tho board to have the rooms attached to tho gymnasiuri fitted up as a class room.— The Chief Inspector reported adversely.— The board decided to adhere to their previous decision, and declined the application. Tt was reported that Walter P. M'Dougall, sole teacher, Rongahere, and Fred. Grymes, messenger in the board's office, had joined the Expeditionary Force. The Normal School Advisory Committee were reappointed, and Messrs Borria, M'Kerrow, and Smith were appointed an accounts committee. —Resignations and Appointments.— The following resignations were accepted:—R. J. Burke, sole teacher, Galloway ; Jessie Paterson, fourth assistant. Mornington; Rachel S. Miller, sole teacher, Kokoamo; John G. Johnston, sole teacher, Tawanui; Floreace Blaney, sole teacher, Kuriwao; Rose Clark, mistress, Coal Creek; A. E. M'Lay, mistress, Kurow; S. F. Goukling, mistress, Teaneraki; A. Milne, mistress, Awamoko; F. Hubbard, sole teacher, Hinahina; A. H. Robinson, fourth assistant, Caversham. The following appointments were made : —Ada Barbar, jun., assistant, Clyde (new appointment); A. H. Robinson, second assistant, Caversham, vice W. Renton (resigned) ; Hannah A. Bremner, sole teacher, Karitane, vice H. C. Hall (transferred); A. J. Milne, .mistress, Leith Valley, vice E. M'Lellan (resigned); R. J. Burke, first assistant, Alexandra, vice L. G. Reilly (promoted); J. G. Johnston, second assistant, Mornington, vice E. Partridge (promoted) ; Una M. Brooke, junior assistant, Forbury, vice C. Lear (promoted); F. Hubbard, sole teacher, Elderslie (new appointment) ; Maria Moir, *ole teacher, Matea (hew appointment); Rachel S. Miller, sole teacher, Qtanomomo (new appointment) : Mary S. Bradfield, mistress, Ratanui, vice S. "Gillespie (transferred). Gordon M'Donald, a senior student at the Training College,'was appointed as substitute for first assistant at Oamaru Middle. . , , , .
