LADIES’ DOUBLES. Miss Morton (England) and Miss Ryan (Ireland) beat Mrs Larcombe and .Mrs Hannan, 6-1, 6-3. HOW THE DOUBLES WERE WON. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, July 6. (Received July 7, at 12.40 p.m.)

The day was rainy. The first two sets were completed in 22min. Roper-Barrett was sound throughout, playing to the centre line in the hope of scoring of Wilding’s left or Brookcs’s right. He poached continually in the third set, showing remarkable activity, until Dixon, who had been very patchy, brilliantly assisted to win the set. The last set was called 3 all, 4 all, 5 all, 6 all. The match was a triumph for youth and physical force rather than science. Wilding was in superlative form, and probably did not miss more than five or six chances of scoring throughout.

ALL-ENGLAND PLATE. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, July 6. (Received July 7, at 12.10 p.m.) In the All-England Plate, open to players defeated in the first and second rounds of the championship, Dixon (Eng.) defeated Harding, 6-1, 6-2.
