VALLEY PRESBYTERIANS
ANNUAL SOCIAL, Tho annual social gathering of the congregation and friends of the North-east valley Presbyterian Church, was held last evening. The Rev. H. B. Gray (minister of the church) occupied the chair, and was supported by the Bevs. J. D. Webster (Stirling), A. Wynne Thomas, A. M'Neur, and J. Carlisle. The Chairman said that in looking back on the 12 months just closed they had great cause to thank God. The church had done more monetarily for outside objects than for some year 3 past. They had been enabled to help the Canton village Mission Fund to a very large extent, while-the young people of the Christian Endeavor had also helped Dr Borne very materially. Foreign and homo missions had received support in a willing and liberal maimer, and it was pleasing to him to see the manner in which the congregation had assisted in these matters. He hoped that the church would continue, with the blessing of God, to accomplish good work in the years to come. The following contributed to a. programme of musical and vocal items : —Mr \V. Bailies (' Hold Thou My Hand,' with violin obligate- by Mr Flamank), Miss Eva Orange ('The Lord is Mv Life'), Mr JMorrison ('The Gentle Shepherd'), and Miss Nellie Taylor ('What are These Arrayed in White Robes?'). The chior, under Mr 11. G. Moore (organist), rendered several choruses in a creditable manner.
