FIRE ON THE TOKOMARU
IN A COAL BUNKER, [Feb United Press Association.] GISBOENE, May 1. The coal in the bunker on the steamer Tokomaru on the port side is reported to bo on fire. The outbreak is not considered serious, but loading operations have been suspended till the afternoon, owing to fumes coming through into the hold.
A CALL FOR ASSISTANCE.
GISBORNE, May 1.
. The Tokomaru signalled at noon to send immediate assistance. The dredge John Townley, equipped with powerful pumps, has goiio out with/members of the Gisborne Fire Brigade.
