Harneiss was appointed M.G., and detail arrangements rtiade. The invitation of Otago Lodge to attend the installation of Bro. Beazley, _t).P., ,was received with thanks. The syllabus item for the evening was a mock auction. Several brothers brought .mysterious packages, and Bro. D. Swan was appointed in charge of the hammer, and after genera! brisk competition cleared the catalogue at satisfactory prices for the benevolent fund, if not for the buyers. The' Bay Lodge held their fortnightly meeting on Tuesday, A.D. Bro. Harper presiding over a fair attendance of members. The visitors were P. A. Bro. R. Green, P.D.P. Brd. G. Et. Green (Lily of the Valley), A.D. Bro. Ruston (Acorn), Bro. Gordon (Otago), and Bro. Cahill (Ivanhoe). A K brother froih Otago Lodge offered a trophy for a competition which will be held in June (A.D. charge), open to all members of the Order ranking under A.D. Bros. and Beazley. The item for the Evening being a social evening, the lodge was closed "early to admit the ladies. Dancing was then indulged in, there being about 30 couples on the floor. Bro. R. Logie thanked the ladies for their attendance, especially the members of the Miriam Lodge. Refreshments were handed round, everybody being well satisfied with the night's amusement. Ivanhoe Lodge held their fortnightly mating in Smith's Stall, Hanover street, Bro Gulbert, A.D., presiding over a good muster of members. Correspondence having been dealt with,. an invitation from Otago Lodge to attend their next meeting was accepted, and the lodge decided to pay aii official visit. The secretary of the Timaru Lodge brought under the notice of the, lodge the position of an .Ivanhoe member in dish'ess. It was decided to apply to the board for permission to make a Dominion appeal, l'he Jodie appointed a committee to Carry on the syllabus for the year. The lodge delegate to the Combined Social Committee reported ~ that everything was progressing in a favorable manner. The lodge were favored bv a visit from Bro. Foss (Otago) and P.D.P. Bro. Reid (Lily of the Valley).
