COLLIERY EXPLOSION
250 MEN ENTOMBED. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. WASHINGTON, April 28, (Received April 29, at 1.50 p.m.) An explosion in the New River Collieries Company’s mine at Bcckley (West Virginia) entombed 250 men in tho 600 ft level. A rescue crew was promptly organised and rescued two men, both of whom wore seriously injured, but they were unable to reach the others. Tho explosion was so severe that it was heard for miles distant.
