[He is by ClanranaW—-Safeguard, and was purchased by Mi- S. A. Ravvdon from Sir George Clifford, after running with fair success in this country. At Caulfield, as a. four-year-old, he was second to Blairgour in the Futurity Stakes, and third to Queen of Scots and Desert Rose in the Newmarket Handicap, 6f, at Flemingtou. At the A.J.C. Meeting he won the Doncaster Handicap, carrying 8.8, in Irain 58iseo. At six years Broadsword won the Adelaide Birthday Cup, Urn.] Mr R Wren’® Ha George, by George Fredericy—Traviata, who won the Eight Hours’ Handicap at Moonee Valley (Vic.) on Monday last, won the Easter Cup at the' Wiiliamstown Racing Club’s Easter Meeting, carrying Bst 11b. A week earlier La George won the Epsom Handicap at the Epsom Meeting, so that ho is evidently in winning vein.
