FORBURY PARK TROTTING MEETING. The Winter Meeting starts at 12.15 p.m, to-morrow. Excellent acceptances have been received, and good racing should take place. Special cars leave the Post Office as required. The Citizens’ Band will supply the music. The track is drying fast, and if there is no more rain the going will be good. The inside grand stand will bo used for the last time, as a new building will shortly be erected. BOWLING.' The monthly meeting of the Dunedin Gertie, held last evening, vas presided over by Mr W. Hogg. An approximate balance-sheet of the Easter tournament, submitted by Secretary Hanning, showed a credit balance of £SO 15s It was decided to pay the greenkeepers 10s a day, with a- bonus of ,5s per day, on account of the extra labor entailed owing to the bad weather.—Accounts to the amount of £lO 17s in connection with the tourney were passed for payment. It was decided to adopt a new design for certificates for winners at centre tournaments, to bo presented to winners at the recent Easter tournament.

The Chairman intimated that the Dunedin Club were the winners of the centre’s banner, which would he presented to them at the Dunedin Green next Saturday. Following is the record of the three leading clubs:—Dunedin Club: Played 41, won 32, lost 9. St. Hilda: Played 41, won 50, lost 10, drawn 1. Caledonian : Flayed 41, won 29, lost 12. It was unanimously decided to vote a bonus ox £lO to the secretary in connection with the Easter tournament.

DUNEDIN HOMING PIGEON CLUB. : The club flew a race from Clinton (58 miles) for young birds on Saturday. PLAZA BILLIARD SALOON. The new Plaza Billiard Saloon has been liberally patronised since it opened on Thursday last. The proprietor's (Messrs Bedford and Watt) are to be congratulated on their enterprise. The rooms, which are spacious and "well furnished, are situated off the right-of-way of the building, and with five new tables and all playing requisites should merit a share of patronage from city circles and billiardists residing in the northern suburbs. Every minute detail ensuring general comfort and detail has been considered. The management also have an office, which patrons may use for attending to private correspondence, and which is to be placed at the disposal of clubs and societies for meetings and other gatherings. Practically speaking, the new parlor is a desirable acquisition from any point of view.

C. Emerson was in great form at Trentham on Saturday. He rode three winners in Mount Victoria, Belasco, and Bee, and three seconds in Byron, Cherubini, and Sir Saracen.

At tho presentation of the Trentham Gold Cup to Mr Fred Hall, owner of Merry Roe, the Hon. W. H. Herries, in the course of a. breezy little speech, referred to the necessity of establishing long-distance races, and said that the increase in the number of such races meant decrease in the number of opponents of the totalisator.
