Sir,—As I understand the second leadnig "f this 13ill has been carried in tho New Zealand House of Representatives, I think j-our readers will he interested to hoar that resolutions in favor of tho Rill in this country have been passed by 650 city corporations and town and district councils. including those of London, Liverpool. Manchester, Sheffield, Belfast, Dublin, Glasgow, Dundee, Cardiff, anil Swansea, so that in the counties of Reikshire, Buckingham, Cornwall, Cum}>erland, Derby. Dorset. Hertford, Huntingdon, Northampton. Oxford, Shropshire, Sussex, Wiltshire, and Westmorland there is hot mm- a ringle town of more than 20,C00 inhabitants the Town Council of which has. not passed a resolution in favor of the Ril!. Similar resolutions have also been passed by four county oouncik, tlio Confer net ice of the Urban District Councils of Pngland and Wales, tho Convention of Royal Ruighs of Scotland, 57 trade- unions, and 47 branches of tho Shop Assistants' Union, 71 Chambers of Commerce, including those of London, Manchester, Liverpool, Sheffield, and Bristol, Tho Asociated Chambers of Commerce in five successive years (viz., 1909, 1910, 1911, 1912, and 1913), the Chamber sof Commerce, of the British Empire at their Congress in London in 1912, and the National Chamber of Trade respectively, several hundreds of societies, associations, and dubs.
