LONDON, October 6 In the course of a speech to the Gaelic League, Lord Ashbourne said the Engbsh tongue would never be the Irish toneue. John Bull was the most insular, narrowminded. impossible person in the world. Anyone count on the Continent knew what an utterly incapable fool his representative was when lie looked for his own. language at the Customs, and complained when he failed to get it. The best way for Ireland to become progressive was for tho people to speak their own language.
