FORESTERS IN CONFERENCE.

[From Our Owx Reporter.] OAMARU, March 22. At the annual meeting of tho United Ota go District, A.0.F., which opened tin's morning, there were present 55 delegates and six executive officers, 23 out of 21 courts in Otago and Southland being represented. Mr W. R. Brugh, District Chief Eanger, presided. The Mayor of Oaniaru (Dr Macadam) extended a very hearty welcome to the assembled Foresters. The annual report was adopted after very brisk discussion. As it was reported that Wellington was unfavorable to establishing a New Zealand subsidiary high court of Forestry, the meeting decided that no further steps shall be taken in the matter at present. The district auditor's report, which showed substantial progress in the Order during the year, was adopted. The mooting approved of-the interchange of medical benefits. As Court Pride of Duncdin had previously expressed a desire for secession from the United Otago District, the meeting resolved to instruct the executive not to register the consolidation rules (which were subsequently confirmed) until after the next annual district meeting, also to assure Court Pride of Dunedin that in the event of no arrangements satisfactory to "the court being made it would be finally accepted that the court had seceded as from December 31 last. The meeting applauded a statement by a Court Pride of Dunedin delegate that his court did not really wish to secede.
