Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. PARIS. March 19. M. Clemenceau was responsible for the crisis leading up to the resignation of the Briand Ministry. His action is regarded as in revenge for the rejection of his nominee for the Presidency. The Radical Extremists dislike the Moderate Republicans’ alliance on proportional representation with the Monarchists. The i; situation is further complicated hy the' conflict between the two Chambers.' The general expectation is that the crisis will not endanger the military reforms nor additions to the army expenditure.
MINISTRY WILL EMERGE STRONGER.
PARIS, March 19. (Received, March 20, at 11.30 a.m.) The newspapers unanimously agree that the resignation, of the Ministry creates an exceptionally grave crisis, but believe that M. Briand will emerge therefrom stronger than ever.
