MINISTERIAL.
The Prime Minister is to arrive by the first express to-day, to lay the foundation stone of the new Technical College. Mr Massey leaves again by the 8 a.m. express to-morrow, and on .Saturday will undertake an extensive tom of North Canterbury, including a visit to Haumer. 'l*ne Hon. 1-, M. B. Fisher leaves Wellington to-day for Sydney, and will go on to Melbourne to confer with the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth re reciprocity. Speaking at a social at Tiinaru last night, the Hon. Mr Massey referred to the complaints as to preference at land ballots not working fairly to single men. It depended on the administration, he said but the clause was complicated, and would be amended if it barred single men. It was not doing that in Hawke’s Bay. He hoped to provide land enough to satisfy ell applicants. The Hon. Air Fisher was entertained last night by members of the Government Printing Offices Association and presented with an illuminated address in recognition of the improvement which he had effected in the working conditions of the Government Printing Office employees, reports an Association wire.
