The American Lawn Tennis Association have cabled asking that the preliminary round for the Davis Cup be plaved in America instead of England, stating that it is impracticable to play in England by June 21—the time fixed for the completion of the match—and suggesting that if Australasia is unable to agree to play in America tho match be played on All-England championships. The American Association undertake to furnish a substantial guarantee if the match is played in America. March 20.
