Tnkqmarn, s.s., worked overtime last night in taking in frozen meat and other produce. Early this morning she left to complete her Homeward loading at Oamaru and other Dominion ports. The Union Steamship Company’s shiprepairing works at Port Chalmers close down from this evening to Tuesday morning. The. late Captain M'Callnm, ex-harhor master, was buried at Port Chalmers this afternoon. Paviuni, s.s., was to leave Greymouth tn-da.V for the Bluff and Dunedin, being due here on Sunday. Kowhai. s.s.. will load timber as Greymouth about the end of next week for Oamaru and Dunedin. Corinna, s.s., is due to-morrow morning from the North. She loaves on Saturday for Aka-roa direct. Kauri, s.s., is expected to leave Newcastle this week for Dunedin and Oamaru. Kaituna, s.s., leaves South Australia next week for Melbourne, Timarn, Lyttelton. and "Wellington. Katoa, s.s., left Westport last night with a cargo of Navy coal for Melbourne. Part of the cargo will, no doubt, be used to coal H.M.S. New Zealand. Waihora, s.s., is expected to leave Calcutta about April 4 for Singapore, Samarang. and New Zealand. ■ Kotare, s.s., sailed to-dav for Riverton, Invercargill, and W’aikawa to load for Dunedin. The Niagara is due at Melbourne about April 20. She loft Home a few days late, but will adhere to her due ’date of departure from Sydney for Vancouver—viz., May 5. Houto, aux. schooner, is loaded and ready to sail for Oamaru. Captain Andersen expected to get away this afternoon or to-morrow. fongariro, s.s., is due about the middle of next week. The New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Paparoa, now in London, is to take up the Turakina’s running, owing to the latter vessel being severely damaged by fire. The Paparoa will leave London on April 10 for Wellington and Lyttelton via Plymouth, TenerilTe, Cane Town, and Hobart. The Union Company’ steamer Mokoia. which was timed to leave Auckland at 6 p.m. on Saturday for Southern ports, did not get away until close upon midnight. An Auckland paper states that the cause of the vessel’s delay was owing to the hydraulic cranes with which" she is equipped not being in working order. An endeavor was made to load the largo quantity of cargo stacked on the wharf, but with the exception of a large consignment of sugar, which was loaded from the barges, most of the general cargo was left behind. The Mokoia experienced the same trouble at Lyttelton on her way north. ' • ’ Word has been received by the local agents for the F. and S. Lino stating that the New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Rimutaka? has been chartered to take' the place of the Banffshire from Liverpool to New Zealand ports. The Banffshire was to have left the Home port on March 15.
