The Young Men’s Social Club held a smoke concert at their rooms, Maclaggan street, on Tuesday evening, Mr A. Xisbet occupying the chair. A lengthy programme of songs, recitations, and musical items was contributed by Messrs Todd, Paterson. Cooksey, Hindes. Potts, and Xisbet, Messrs Todd and Duncan acting as accompanists. During the evening the chairman presented Messrs A. X. Price and A. J. Paterson with timepieces as marriage gifts, and referred in eulogistic terms to the services rendered to the club by both members, and wished them long life and happiness. Several other members also spoke of the capable manner in which Messrs Price and Paterson had carried out their duties, both as officers and members.
