HIGH SCHOOLS BOARD.

*. A meeting of the Otago High Schools Board of Governors was held this afternoon, the Hon. T. Fergus presiding. The reports of the principals snowed that there were 334 boys and 194 girls on rolls. The question of providing a new house for the rector of the boys’ school was referred to the Works Committee for report, the Chairman expressing the opinion that it could be done. In answer to a memo, from the Secretary for Education inquiring if the board were in a position to make any further claim for subsidy on account of the completion of the Girls’ High School building, it- was resolved to inform the department that- the board contemplated the completion of another portion of the building, including the hail, at an approximate cost of £2,000.
