.[Pee United Press.] WELLINGTON, January 7. Swanston (N.Z.) v. Dixon (Eng.). —Dixon took the first set, 6-3. Swanston made a big effort, improving as Ik- went. Some excellent rallies took place in the second sot. The'games were much more even. Dixon won his service, Swanston making 1 all. Dixon look the next. Swanston followed suit. The two were driving beautifully. At '.2.50 p.m. ’ the score stood 3-2 in favor of Dixon.
