The English walnut is said to be the most profitable of all nut-bearing trees. When in full bearing they will yield about 300'.b.0f nuts to the tree. Ihe nuts sell on an average at about 4d per lb. If only 27 trees are planted on an acre, the income would be about £155 per acre.
