SERIOUS SHEEP LOSSES

Reports from the Amuri County” show that the losses of sheep during the winter snowstorms was far heavier than was supposed. YVoodbank Station turned out, 12,000 sheep last year, but only 8,000 mustered for shearing. Clarence block of St. James Station mustered only 2,500 out of 8,000; and Acheron block of'St. Helens Station 8,000 from 13,000. Settlers at Glynn Hope lost half their flocks. At Upper YVaiau tho losses reached a’ third. Shearing is incomplete, and. full returns are not available, but the stations which have shorn indicate the magnitude of the losses.
