DIED IN A CELL.

4, PROVISION FOR DELIRIUM TREMENS PATIENTS WANTED. [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, January 4. At the inquest on the death of Michael Malone, which occurred in the 'terrace prison, the Coroner- said that there was- iio evidence that the police did otherwise than treat the man properly from the time of his arrest, till his removal to gaol. The prison officials did the same. A verdict was returned that death resulted from hemorrhage due to a fracture of the skull, and that there was not sufficient evidence to show how the injury was received. The Coroner added that delirium tremens patients like the deceased, apart from having injuries, should receive proper medical and nursing attention. No doubt the hospital had good reason for refusing such cases, but there should he Kmie place at the hospital or the gaol where they could receive proper treatment.
