. THE UNIONISTS' DILEMMA. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, December 31. A well-informed correspondent of the 'Pall Mall Gazette' states that if the Unionists attempt to press Mr A. Bonar Law to modify his Ash-ton speech it is absolutely certain that he will resign the leadership. The writer is of opinion that the unity of tho party under any other leader is impossible under present circumstances. A conference of the Unionist leaders was held in the House of Commons. It is understood that thev decline to intimate that a food tax policy will secure the largest amount of support. THE LABOR! TARTY. LONDON, January 1. ANGRY WELSH MEMBERS. LONDON, January 1. (Received January 2, at, 8.30 a.m.) A deputation of Welsh 'Radicals protested against the concessions of the. Government under the Welsh Church Disestablishment Bill. The Homo Secretary (Mr M'Kenna) affirmed that they were" matters of justice, not concessions. The deputation were so incensed at the reply that they refused to communicate to the Press what was said by the Home Secretary.
