LONDON, January 1. The 'Gazette' contains announcements of the New Year honors as follow:
To be peers: Sir George Sydenham Clarke (Governor of Bombay), Sir George Kemp (ex-M P. for North west Birmingham, who resigned on account of inability to support the Government's Home Rule policy).
To be baronets : Admiral Sir Percy Scott (of Ladysmith fame), Mr Thomas Jackson (a leading British architect), Mr J. K. Caird (head of Ihe Clydo shipbuilding firm).
To be K.C.B. :. Sir John Anderson '(permanent Under-Secretary of the Colonial Office).
To'be Knight Commanders of St. Michael and St. George : Sir E. Morris, K.C., P.O. (Prime Minister of Newfoundland since 1909), Sir J. P. Whitney, K.C., LL.D. (Prime Minister of Ontaiio since 1905).
Knight Bachelor: Mr Walter C. Buchanan, M.P. for Wairarapa. Companion of St. Michael and St, George:'Mr Leonard Stowe, clerk of the Legislative Council of New Zealand.
Knighthoods have also been conferred on Mr A. L. Liberty, head of the art furnishing firm in Bo:i:l street, London; Dr Francis Darwin (second son of the famous naturalist), who. though a doctor, does not practise medicine, was his father's assistant at Doiui, and after the latter's death settled at Cambridge, where he is an lion, fellow of Christ's College, was president of the British Association for the Advancement of Science when they visited South Africa; and Dr Robert Phillip, of Edinburgh, who is the recognised leader of the crusade against tuberculosis.
