The first sugar beet factory in England has just been established, without any fuss or ceremony, at Cantley, in Norfolk. The company who have initiated this enterprise are the Anglo-Netherland Sugar Corporation, and a Dutchman (Mynheer You Rt,ssum) is at the head of affairs. This year no fewer than .3,500 acres have been put under beet, and about 40,000 tons are ex-' pected to be delivered at the factory. This yield should produce about 5,000 tons 'of sugar.
