At Saturday's swimming carnival in Wellington there was a large attendance. The weather was fine. The 100 yds handicap resulted: —M'Lean (12sec) 1, Solomons (Sydney, scratch) 2, Robinson (Msec) 3. Time. 69see. Solomons won the second heat in this event in 58 2-ssec, the fastest time ever recorded in Wellington. FOOTBALL: A CLOSE CALL. The South African Rugby team (7 points) defeated Cardiff (6 points).
