OTAGO HIGHLAND CLUB.

The monthly mooting of tho above clni) was held in the Victoria Hall, Mr A. MTvor presiding. There was an excellent attendance of members, and a most enjoyable evening was spent. A sword-dance competition was held for children under 15 years. The entries wore not tip to the usual number, only four coming forward. Air D. APDonald was judge, aud awarded the prizes as follow:—Miss Flora McDonald 1, Miss Rosie Bayne 2, Miss Nita Frame _ 3, Miss Jean Riddell 4. Tho following contributed items during tho evening: —Song, ‘ The Wreck,’ Mr Stevens; song, 1 Far, Far Away,’ Aliss Johnson ; Afessrs M‘Donald and Smith. The Elite Banb _ supplied excellent music for the dancing. Air J. Gray acted as AI.C.
