DOMINION DOINGS.

[Pee United Peess Association.]

AUCKLAND, December 21. The naked body of a man was found in the harbor. Near by, on the rocks, the clothes of a man of medium stature were discovered, showing evidence of much wear. There were a pair of cashmere socks, marked with the letter “Y.” A singlet was found on a vacant section 500 yards distant, and to it a note was attached, signed “Y.Y.Z.” On it was written: “Who finds the vest' may keep it; too much bother to take hack to Auckland.’’ WELLINGTON, December 21.

Reserved judgment was given to-day in the case of Arthur New, charged with betting in a public place. A fine of £2O, with costs, was imposed.
