Tlie Loyal Albion Lodge on Thursday evening concluded a successful year’s work with a most enthusiastic meeting, not the least important feature of which was the initiation. of eight candidates, G.M. Bro. vv. Sullivan and P.G. Bro. Wa.ldie controlling tlie ceremony. The attendance was large, and among the visitors were P.P.G.M. Bro. Lawrv (Cavershaim), V.G Bro. Belcher (Middiemarch). N.G. Bro. J. Scott {Centenary), and P.P.G.M. Bro. •L Broad foot (Hand and Heart). P.G. Bro. O’Driscoli was also present after a long absence, and received a hearty welcome. N.G. llro. W. Head presided, and after the routine work and correspondence incidental to a. healf-yearly meeting had been disposed of, the lodge appointed the following officers for the ensuiiitt term ; G.M., Bro. AY, Read; N.G.. Bro. AY. Scott ; ALG., Bro. A. Lilley; E.S., Bro. Greenfield: warden, Bro. ('. Anderson; guardian, Bro. AA T , Anderson; per. sec., Bro. P. Stabh (re-elected); treasurer. Bro S. Smith (re-elected). L.M. Bro. Sullivan was tho principal installing officer, and had the assistance of P.D.G.M. Bro. G. Goughian and other brethren. Owing to tho partial failure of the gas supply, the meeting concluded with the aid of a few candles.

The Loyal Caversham Lodge met in their hall, Forbury Corner. laet night instead of on Christmas night. N.G, Bro. A. Selby presided, and the attendance was good, including a fair sprinkingof visitors. Tho election of officers resulted : N.G., Bro. Hudson; ALG., Bro. Bond; E.s!’ Bro. Swinney (this was the only- contested office) ,; warden, Bro. Morrison; guardian, Bro. Smithson; auditor, Bro.. D. Jones, conductor. P.G. Bro. Wilson: lecture master. G.M. Bro. A. Selby. These officers were duly- installed, and afterwards returned thanks for their appointment. A candidate was initiated during the. evening, P.G.M. Bro. Cole giving the instruction lecture and Bro. Wilson the obligatory charge. Tho elective officer's were empowered to make tlie necessary arrange merits for the fitting entertainment of the local Druids next meeting night. The following responded to the cnstoniarv courtesies : —ALG. Bro. Lillev and P.G. Bro. Sullivan (Albion), E.S.” Bro. Guild (Dunedin), V.G. Bro.' Belcher (Middlemarch), P.G. Bro. W. H. Lyons (Rand' and Heart), Bro. Thompson (Addington). P.G. Bro. Hope (Dalton), and PALM. Bro. Cole and P.D.G.M. Bro. Conghlan (District Executive).
