DISCUSSED IX THE ASSEMBLY

WELLINGTON, November 18. The Presbyterian Assembly to-day resumed discussion on the home mission department. The duties of home missionary were defined, the convene*- (Dr Gibb) stating that a new and better day had dawned in home-mission enterprise. Regarding Knox College extension, the hope was expressed that, with the generosity of friends of the Church, of whom iLr John Ross had given £7,000, the new buildings would be opened free of debt. With tho present extension completed there would be accommodation for ovei 80 students in residence.
In recognition of the services of Dr An. drew Cameron to Knox College, it, was de cided to have a portrait of him paiatecL.
