TO THE EDITOR. •Sir, —After carefully reading through the picked team for Southland, I was extremely sin-prised to find that Southern (this scaton's premiers) have only one representative in the team. Having witnessed the majority of this season's matches. I am pure an injustice has been done thus team, who have won the challenge siiield four years out of six (the last three in cueceesion), and the charity cup five years out of sevfin. Yet 6ueh players as Ashtou and Forrester (fullbacks), M'Faull (forward), and Langley (goalkeeper) have been passed by. Is, this state of affairs due. to the fact that Southern are the only team (of the first four teams on the lift) who axe not represented on the Selection Committee? Then, Again, Baiter (left full-back of the Hairdressers' team) i=. in my estimation, a. safer player than the one already sel&cted, and lias played a consistently good gafne for the last two seasons.
