Kotare. s.s., having had a new propeller shaft fitted, came out of dock yesterday afternoon, and towed the Rakiura (which h-is been laid up at Port Chalmers) up to Dunedin. The Kotare left this afternoon foT InvercargiU and Riverton. Wairuna. s.s., reached Port Chalmers this morning from Newcastle via the Bluff, and proceeded to discharge coal. She comes up to Dunedin to-morrow. Kaiapoi, s.s.. is due here to-morrow with co'il from West-port direct. Taviuni. s.s., is due here to-morrow from the West Coast via the Bluff. Moeraki, s.s., came out of dock this morning. On Mondav she goes to Oamaru for potatoes, returning to take up the Wednesday sailing for Svdnev via Cook Strait. Flora, s.s., leaves Wellington on Tuesday for Timaru and Dunedin. She is- due hero on Thursday. She leaves the same day for the West Coast via ports. Warrimoo, s.s., is due here on Tuesday afternoon from Melbourne via ports. She may go on to Lyttelton to complete discharge prior to docking at Port Chalmers. Turakina, s.s.. from London via Hobart, arrived at Wellington this morning. She i.< due at Lyttelton about the end of next week. TIMARU HARBOR IMPROVEMENTS. A Timaru mesage states that, the- Harbor Board at its meeting yesterday discussed a proposal to add 500 ft to the eastern mole, with a view to reducing the range from certain seas. The engineer approves, but recommends only '4soft. Two or three members objected, and asked, for more information, and the discussion was adjourned for a month. Further inquiries are to be made in the meantime.
