DUKDAS STREET SUNDAY SCHOOL.
Tho anniversary of the Dundo.s Street Primitive Methodist Sunday School \riis celebrated last evening. The Rev. G. Knowles Smith presided. The .annual report (road by Mr F. W. Parker) contained the frllor/irig:—"ln the past year wo have been using the new graded lessons, and they have been much appreciated both by teacher* and scholars, especially the lower grades. These lesions have, of course, meant e:9 u expense to tho school, but we believe the time has now come when it is admitted that, the Sunday school is the most important institution in connection with the church, and that ire should give it the best we .-an. The number now on the roll is 208, which is about the same as last year. The. total is made up of 39 boys, 105 girls, and 14 in the Young Women's Bible Clara. The. latter has been carried on successfully throughout the year by Miss Brown. The Young Men's BiMo Class has developed into a men's meeting, and this is held in the church on Sunday afternoons. Mirses Pollok and Parker have done good work fp. the primary department, throughout the year, and now have the assistance of Miss A. Cab I?. The average attendance of scholars during the year has been 150." The teaching staff wi.s stated at 22, the men standing in a. majority of two. The treasurer's .report showed a credit balance of £3 19-s lOd, and the expenditure included an item for the purchase of an organ for the primary department, and £l2 10\. the annual payment oil the school building fund. 'Tho evening's programme included songs, recitations, and diuloguefi. The chorus singing by the- choir, under Mr P. 11.. Young, who has resumed hii duties as choirmaster, was much appreciated. .Thanks .were expressed to Mr A. llawimson, who took charge of the choir during Mr Young's enforced absence. Mr E. 11. Kim» *vv.ii also thanked for his work in training the children for the elocutionary items. The -superintendent, of the school (Mr W.- M. Roberts) presented the prizes to the scholars as follows: Boys : Class I.— Harold -Bellworthy, Stanley Hendra, and AJf. i-Toklaway (equal) 1.
