GIRLS' HIGH SCHOOL.
Close on 80 pupils of the Otago Girls' High School held a meeting laafc night for the purpose of enrolling members of the ex-High School Association. Miss Marchant, principal, who presided, eaid it was gratifying to see bo many present, because it showed they -were interested in the formation of the Association, -which bad formerly been in existence, but had fallen through owing to divers circumstances, In the worse of an interesting address Miee Marchanb referred to -what was being done at present to encourage -women to organise. Miss V. Jacobs submitted the report of last year' 6 preliminary proceedings, and the resolution that was than carried. Tlio meeting confirmed these minutes. The membership subscription for scholars was filed at 2s 6d ; 5s for hon. members; only ihoso to be qualified for membership who have attended the school for at least a year since 1896. It was resolved to hold their first social shortly. Committees were set, up for hockey, tennis, and entertainments.
