A CHILD'S DEATH.
COLLAPSES UNDER OPERATION. While being operated upon for postnasal' growths, a little girl named Elizabeth R. Williamson, aged 3i years, collapsed and died at Mosgiel yesterday afternoon. She was the daughter of Mr John Williamson, a North Taieri farmer, and was examined by Dr Allan on October 1, when he decided to operate. The little girl was accordingly brought to the doctor's house yesterday by her aunt (Miss Sinclair), and operated upon by the doctor, who was assisted by his daughter. The operation wa* just ov«r when the child collapsed, and never rallied. Before operating Br Allan examined the patient, and found nothing to indicate that she was not a strong, healthy child. An inquest will be held to-morrow morning.
