ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS.

James Shaw, head ploughman a/tGlenary Station, near Waikaia, fell off a waggon loaded with coal yesterday afternoon. The wheels passed over his legs, which were badly crushed. He was brought by motor car to Gore last evening, and died after admission to the hospital.—Gore telegram. An Ashburton telegram states that a middle-aged man named Richard Milner Buchanan, a bailiff, and an old resident of Ashburton, who was recovering from, a drinking bout, was found by menibers of his family in great pain abont 4 o'clock this morning. He died shortly afterwards. Strychnine waa found in the hotuse, and it is understood that it is a case of suicide by poisoning. The man was dead when the police arrived. Mr David Sturrock, second steward of the steamer Rotorua, who had been ill for some days, was found dead in bed at Lyttelton. At the inquest a verdict was returned that death was due to heart failure. Kobert Pryde. aged 19 years, was run over by a dray near Ornimi on Tuesday and killed. lie had been helping his father and brother to load firewood, and after he. had left the bush the horses were noticed galloping home with the dray.
