Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, August 6. (Received August 7, at 9.30 a.m.) At the National. Catholic Congress at Newcastle Archbishop Bourne said that the Catholics in England looked to the Government to protect the rights of British Catholics in Portugal, and to inform Portugal that Great Britain's friendship could only be retained by the discontinuance of the unjust and degrading conduct now shown towards them.
