A little business "was done last week in wheat, for which a good inquiry still continues. If anything, prices are a shad* higher, but still not high enough to induce holders to sell freely. For mixed hnes 3s 4|d net and 3s sa, less commission, have been given ,and in one instance 3« 6d, less commission, was paid for a line, with delivery at a handy mill. Very little has been done in potatoes. For newly picked over IJ.p-to-Bates £2 10s net was given, on trucks. GRAIN AND PRODUCE. Mes.sre Daigety and Co. report a* follows:—We licid our weekly auction sale of grain and produce at our stares to-day, when we offered a fair catalogue to the usual attenda-nce of the trade. Prices ruled as under: Gate. —The market still continues to be bare]}- supplier], and prices have advanced another jd a bushel. There is a keen demand for shipment, and any lines being offered are readily sold at quotations. Prime milling. 2s 5-Jd to 2s 6d; good to best feed, 2s 4Ad to 2s'sid; medium, 2s 3d to 2s 4d; "inferior, 2s to 2s 2d per bushel (hugr, <'xtra). Wheat.—There is a good demand for all prime sampler, offering, velvet and velvetear being mo:?t. hi request. Fowl feed is also more ratable. We quote:—Primevelvet, 3s 7d to is Sri ; prime velvet-ear and Tuscan. 3s to 3s 6d ; medium, 5s 4-£ d to Es 5d ; ba-t- whole fowl feed, 3s 3£d to 3s 4^d; inferior. 2c, lOd to 3s Id per bushel (bags, extra). Potatoes.—Supplies from the country IrfVe if anything rather eased, but there Mill remains enough potatoes in store to Supply the demand. The only inquiry at the present time is a purely local one. as the demand for sliipment from this port is practically nil. Best table sorte, £3 2s 6d to £3 55,; medium to good, £3 12s 6d to £3 6d ; inferior. £2 to £2 10s per ton (bugs in). Chaff.—Arrivals *till continue fairly heavy. Piiuie oai«i sheaf only is inquired for. medium qua lily being without demand. Beet black oaten chaff. £4 5s to £4 7s 6d : best white oaten chaff, SA 2n 6d to £4 ss; medium to good, £3 10s to £3 17s 6d; r.traw chaff and inferior, £2 to £2 15s per ton (bags extra).
