KID-GLOVED BURGLAR.
A" blood-stained finger-mark on the window sill of the house of a Jersey City millionaire was responsible for the *wrast of Frank Smith, a young man whrcn the police allege to be the cleverest " kid-gloved" burglar m New York. During the past few weeks no fewer than 35 residences in the " millicmaires' quarter" have been broken into, but the police had been unable to find the slightest clue. The finger-mark was discovered two or three days ago, and the police compared it with those recorded at the police headquarters. The print corresponded with the finger-mark of Smith, which was included in the collection, and he was promptly arrested. He was found to hare recently c.ut his finger badly, and this was taken- as corroborative evidence. The police say that Smith was in the habit of wearing kid gloves when engaged in a burglary, e>o as to avoid leaving finger-prints, but during hi* last attempt his glove was torn and his finger cut by a broken piece of window glass, and he-departed without noticing that he. had left a finger-print.—New York Moeapoiuieat 'Daily CJuoiiicla.'
