THE VETO CRISIS.
THE QUESTION OF NEW PEERS. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, August 1. It is not likely that the House of Commons will deal with tho Parliament Bill before next week. 'Tho Times' states that the Government are in a dilemma owing to tho situation in the House of Lords. Either they must send the Bill to tho Lords without any warranty that it will pass, or forthwith create new Peers. Lord Lansdowne, in a letter to Lord Camperdown, who has announced hfe preparedness to vote for the Government if such action would prevent the creation of Peers, says that ho has rewmmsnded his supporters to abstain from voting. Personally, he would not vote with the Government when the Parliament Bill was returned.
