RESOLUTION. Whereas by Section 10 of “The Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1908,” a local authority is authorised to raise a Special Loan for tiie putposo of establishing an Abattoir under Section 5 of the said Act by Special Order, and without .submitting to the vote ot the ratepayers the proposal to raise the same. Mow, therefore, the Dunedin City Council, a. local authority within the meaning of "The Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1303,” in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the said Act, hereby resolves, so that this resolution may be continued at. a subsequent mealing of the Council, and operate as a Special Order under Section 15 of ‘‘ 'ldle Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1803,” as follows; '1 bat for (he purpose of establishing an Abattoir as aforesaid the Dunedin City Council do raise a Special Loan of Ten Thousand Pounds (£10.000), bearing interest at a rate not cxccding lour and one-half per rent. (4g per com.) per annum, for a. period of Twenty-two (22) Years, and that for securing the repayment of Ur; said loan and of providing ten- the interest and other charges thereon, the said Council hereby appropriates and pledges as security the Abattoir Property situate at Burnside, subject to existing pledges, the geneva! indebtedness of tha City of Dunedin, together with u Special Kate of one halfpenny (jd) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value of all rateable property within the City of Dunedin, such rate to bs an annual recurring rate during tha currency of the loan, and to be payable haliyeariy on the First day of September and on the First day of Id arch in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of twenty-two years, or until the loan is fully paid oft. And the said Council also resolves that the said loan of £IO,OOO ho raised by the issue of Debentures under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” and that such Debentures shall bo for the sum of £IOO each, and shall hade coupons annexed thereto for the interest to accrue due thereon, which shall be payable half-yearly in every year, until such loan is fully paid off, and that the Debentures and Coupons shall be payable at the Bank of New Zealand in any part, of New Zealand, or in the Cities of London, Sydney, or Melbourne, free of exchange to the holders thereof. And the said Council also resolves that the Mayor a/fix the Corporation Seal to all such Debenture?, and that all such Debentures and Coupons bo signed by the Mayor and countersigned by I,he City Treasurer, but so that their respective signatures to the Coupons may he lithographed or impressed thereon by means of a stamp.
