PRESENTED TO PARLIAMENT. The following are summaries r>t' imports laid on the tabic of the House last week : Last vear pension's to the extent of £5,846 were granted by the Public Service Bupervnnuation Hoard. Last year the total income of the fund amounted to £156.000. _ The rate per cent, of th.s cost of collection of last year's Customs .duties (£3.225,722) ranged from £1 '-5s 4d in the case of Auckland to £7 16s lOd in the case of Pictoii. At Wellington the rate was £1 5s Bd. Dunedin and Port Chalmers £1 6s Id, Lytteltou £1 8s 2d, Invercargill £1 17s Id*, and Wangauai £1 16s 3d. At the end of last year there were 3,247 contributors to the Teachfrs" Superannnv tinn Fund. The annual rat? of contribution paid as at the end of the year was £37,300. The number of retiring allowances then in force "?as 270, rcprpscnting an annual charge of over £14.261. Of these, ordinary allowances. 153 in number, represented 11,437; allowances in medically unfit cases, £1,408; allowances to widows, £611; and allowances to children, £BOS. The balance at the credit of the fimd and invested by ihe Public Trustee air the end of the fear was £152.149, and the average rate of interest earned by the inveatmentti was 1.69 yer cent.
