The annual meeting of the New Zealand Jersey Cattle-breeders' Association this morning was attended by 40 representative breeders of the Dominion. The report stated that the association had a membership of 200, and was in a sound condition financially. The work of the association had doubled during the last year, and had trebled since 1900. In the next stud book would be the names of 311 registered Jersey stock. Mr Watson (president) emphasised the need of thoroughly testing herds, culling and slaughtering stock which failed to pass the tests. The Governor accepted the office of patron. Mr A. H. Halcombe (Urenui) was elected president, and Mr H. M. Taft (Onehunga) and Mr Vi. V. Hardness vice-presidents. Mr W. HL Booth (Carterton) aiftl Mr W. V. Harkness fill the vacancies on. the council.
