On the motion of Cr Cameron the clerk was authorised to vrite to the Drainage Board asking what thev intended to dj about the Bar Vievr rotid ditch, and wheJi. The Mayor reported that Mr Dick and hirrtfielt had had an interview with Mr F-lincer about the Bay View road, and learned that the flrairinga Board had deeiedd to put the ro?.d in thorough repair, to the. permanent level, from Andes-son Bay read to Kinff Edward street. The Hal! Ccmmittee recommended that th* ratepayers be asked to sanction a loan of £1.250 for erecting a Coronation Hall.— The Mayor mentioned that inquiries had alreadv been made by persons who thought of using the hall and Tenting the shops.— The recommendation was aprred to, and trie mayor, the deputy-mayor, and Crs Cameron", M'Farlane, Harris, and M'Donald were appointed » committee to place Lite matter before the ratepayers.
